Esben Lash is a Danish artist with a deep love for the fantasy genre. Over the years, he’s gone from doodling in a quiet Danish village to becoming a prominent name in the gaming world. His path wound through major studios like Sixmorevodka in Berlin and Riot Games in Los Angeles, where his vivid splash art helped shape League of Legends’ iconic visuals.

But after years of chasing big projects and finding success at the top, Esben took a step back. Moving home to Denmark, he sought to rediscover what made him fall in love with art in the first place. The return wasn’t just physical—it was a return to his roots as an artist. He started digging back into his childhood inspirations: Warhammer, Larping, LoTR, DnD, Warcraft and the deep well of fantasy storytelling that always captured his imagination.

Now, as Art Director at IO Interactive, Esben is leading the creative charge for their ambitious new IP, Project Fantasy. It’s a chance to merge his technical skill with his enduring love for the fantastical, building new worlds from the ground up. And while he's working at the cutting edge of game development, Esben hasn’t lost sight of his passion for teaching and sharing. Through his online art school, "Art Guild," he’s passing on the knowledge and experience he’s gained over the years to aspiring artists, encouraging them to find their own voices and push the boundaries of their craft.

Esben’s story is one of constant evolution—both as an artist and as a person. From prestigious studios to a quiet return home, his journey is proof that art isn’t just about where you end up, but the discovery you make along the way. And now, with Project Fantasy, he’s ready to take everything he’s learned and pour it into the next chapter of his creative life.
